DMEM:F12 culture medium

DMEM:F12 culture medium is a combination of two types of culture medium, DMEM and Ham’s F12, which is normally used for the growth of a wide range of mammalian cells. The composition of DMEM: F12 is rich and complex and contains 21 types of amino acids, 10 types of vitamins, glucose, zinc and iron and other compounds. In fact, it contains a combination of high amounts of glucose, amino acids and vitamins in DMEM culture medium and various components of Hams’F12 culture medium. This culture medium is a type of synthetic medium that does not contain any type of serum or protein, and therefore, depending on the type of cell culture, it may need supplements, including serum.
